ZTE has a pretty decent mid-range smartphone that’s just made it to AT&T’s prepaid service, but are we getting a capoeira lesson here? And what’s with this long name?

Well, the blog post at Cricket Wireless’s site play cute with the marketing of the phone with references to Motorola’s heavily ‘ol chugger, the DynaTAC, and the whole bit about how smartphone screen sizes blew up so fast.

But then we get this series of GIFs (which we can’t place here because of our filesize restrictions … darn them) that show off a bunch of people running around a huge park in Atlanta, showing off different features of the ZTE Grand X Max 2. What? You don’t think an attractive guy fussing about in a splash fountain doesn’t show off how the dual rear cameras on this thing works? Get outta town. Should we be seeing a bunch of people run and slide down a set of stairs to illustrate how this phone is essentially a “Pocket Computer”? Of course!

Whatever makes sense to you, Cricket Wireless. Whatever makes sense.

All kidding aside, the specs line up with many other mid-range smartphones in the open market right now:

Component Description
Screen size 6 inches
Resolution 1920 x 1080
Pixel density 367 ppi
SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 617
Type Octa-core
Speed 1.5GHz
GPU Adreno 405
Storage 16GB (expandable by up to 64GB)
Camera 13-megapixel rear camera with 2-megapixel focus assist sensor / 5-megapixel front camera
Battery 3400mAh
OS Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Dimensions 164 x 83.7 x 8.8mm / 179g

Tying up some loose ends, we should note that while the Grand X Max 2 has USB-C and a Snapdragon 617, it opts for the Quick Charge 2.0 standard and not the 3.0 standard that it can support. The phone also claims to have Dolby-enhanced Hi-Fi sound.

You can pick up this new phone at Cricket stores right now for $199.99.
