The ASUS ZenFone 2 is a phone to definitely keep on your shortlist if you’re looking for a new device. It impressed us with the occasion of our review, and, if you’re lucky enough to live in specific markets, you can also get a special edition which packs a whopping 256GB of internal storage. The company is preparing to capitalize on the success of (and buzz around) its ZenFone line-up, and will prepare no less than 6-7 new models next year.
Company CEO Jerry Shen said these new 2016 ZenFone series smartphones will mostly pack 5.5-inch displays, and next year’s line-up, according to the executive, will include a premium ZenFone Deluxe, two variants of the mainstream ZenFone Laser, one ZenFone Selfie and ZenFone Max, as well as one or two ZenFone Go models.
Those of you who were excited about the PadFone concept over time will be happy to find out that the product is not dead; according to the CEO, it will likely be absorbed by the ZenFone Deluxe family of products.
As far as the near future is concerned (and we’re talking IFA 2015), we have seen the official invite, but we were wondering whether we will see a new smartphone or two. Well, apparently ASUS is preparing a ZenFone Zoom (a device with 3x optical zoom capabilities), and a ZenFone Max (a 5,000mAh battery beast), according to Shen.
