Will Sony release the Xperia Z4 as the Xperia Z3+ in other regions?
There were a lot of rumors and leaks leading up to the official unveiling of the Sony Xperia Z4, and, once the phone became official, we found out that it was bound to Japan. Then came rumors that Sony was working on a completely different phone for the rest of the world; how different is anyone’s guess, but today we’re seeing information that the Xperia Z4 might reach other markets as the Xperia Z3+.
Manufacturers have been using “+” or “plus” versions of their devices to describe a slightly improved/better/larger model, regardless if we’re talking Apple, HTC, or someone else, like Sony, in this particular case.
According to an official document published on Sony’s website (the White Paper for the Style Cover Window), this particular accessory is compatible with the Sony Xperia Z4, and the Sony Xperia Z3+. We’ve previously heard of a certain “Sony Xperia Z3 Neo” denomination to describe a particular non-Z4 phone, but the Z3+ mentioned in the document might be either the exact device, with a different name, for other regions, or a completely new one, with same outer aspect, but different internals.
