Sony Xperia Z3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update coming in February
Despite being an incremental update to its predecessor, the Sony Xperia Z3 is a great phone, with exceptional performance, awesome battery life, and a build (which you might like or dislike) that makes it resistant to both water and dust. Out of the box, the Sony Xperia Z3 is powered by Android 4.4.4 (with Sony’s own UI on top of it), but that’s about to change soon, according to the manufacturer.
At the CES 2015 special Sony keynote, the company’s COO, Michael Fasulo, announced that the Sony Xperia Z3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update will start rolling out to devices beginning next month. Despite not mentioning an exact date, this comes as a confirmation of Sony’s previous statement from last year when the company committed to updating its Z line-up to Google’s latest and greatest. The Xperia Z3 should definitely get the refresh in February, and so will the Z3 Compact (most likely previous iterations (like the Z2 or Z1 Compact) will get it as well, though it might not happen next month for these models).
