The Mi Note 2 was long in the making but is finally here. And it has the edge screen to show off. But what if you wanted just a plain, flat slab to use? Tough luck.

Xiaomi marketing director and head of counterfeit oversight Zang Zhiyuan reblogged a post on Chinese social media site Weibo that simply said that the Mi Note 2 would not come in a flat version.

His comment? “Oh.” Is that all he could muster up?

Regardless, it seems that Zang’s reblog and comment have been taken as verification that despite rumors of a flat Note 2 floating around, they’ve come, alas, to a dead end.

Bubble popping has become more of a popular activity in recent times with Meizu and OnePlus also having shot down a few whispers.
