Xiaomi Mi 5 gets kind of teased for a late launch

Xiaomi continues to gain traction with its smartphone offerings, even if most of these are based in China. We’ve praised the company for products like the Mi 4, and even though we’ve been waiting for the Mi 5 for months now, all we got was the Mi 4i. Those of you eagerly waiting for the new flagship might have to wait a little more.

We notice that a Xiaomi Mi 5 teaser has just surfaced on Weibo, but by saying this, we pretty much say that it isn’t even official. All we notice in the teaser is a large number 5, a fingerprint at the bottom, and text asking if you’re ready for this in 2015. It seems Xiaomi has forgotten that we’ve been ready since July, mainly because that was a full year after the Mi 4 was launched. We assume that the delay has been due to the rumored Snapdragon 820 processor under the hood, given the fact that Qualcomm has not made it official yet, but it could be due to other factors.

Hopefully we learn more about it in weeks to come.
