Xiaomi Mi 4i goes official with great specs for the price tag
We’ve kept a close eye on all the rumors of the Xiaomi Mi 5, which eventually turned into a possible Mi 4i. Today the company finally made the Xiaomi Mi 4i official in an event held New Delhi, and even though for some this might be a step back from the existing Mi 4, that depends what matters most to you. Have a look at these specs, match them with the price tag, and you’ll understand why.
First of all, the Xiaomi Mi 4i is built on a polycarbonate body and packs an octa-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 processor, which might be a step back in speed from the Snapdragon 801 on the Mi 4, but with the added punch of newer 64-bit architecture. This power is backed by an Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 3120 mAh battery. Up front we have a 5-inch 1080p OGS IPS display with a pixel density of 441 ppi. This particular panel is called the “Sunlight display” because it sports an adaptive brightness technology to improve visibility in direct sunlight by brightening darker areas, sort of like what we see on Sony Xperia displays. It has a 13 megapixel f/2.0 primary camera with dual LED flash, a 5 megapixel f1.8 front-facing shooter, and some of the shooting modes were overhauled for this device as well. We also have dual-SIM slots here, something very popular for the Asian market, in addition to all the regular bells and whistles that devices of this category provide in connectivity. When it comes to software we have Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 running on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop as well.
Best of all, you get all this for just $205 (INR 12,999). We haven’t heard of international availability, but at this price tag, it’s really hard to beat all these specs. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
