Microsoft pushes new Windows 10 Mobile Facebook app out of beta

Life’s never been too easy for Windows Phone users wanting access to mainstream apps, and that’s especially true for Facebook users. Sure, they had access to some neat system-level integration, but that started going away this past summer, and the Microsoft-crafted Facebook app has never quite been able to meet feature parity with the official Facebook-developed Android and iOS versions. Still, Microsoft’s been working hard to give its users the Facebook experience they deserve, most recently developing a new beta app for Windows 10 Mobile users. With the OS just about to go mainstream, it’s finally time to graduate that app from its beta position and make it available to users at large.

If you’ve been following beta development, there’s not much new here, but this still marks an important milestone, all the same.

Windows 10 Mobile users will see the app hitting their phones as version 10.1, but Microsoft’s not done with Windows Phone 8.1 support just yet – we get an update there, too, with the app moving up to build

Updates bringing Windows 10 Mobile to existing Lumia handsets (assuming you haven’t already jumped on the Insider bandwagon) will start hitting phones sometime next month.
