Windows 10 leaks show 3D Live Tiles, the return of Aero, and more
Microsoft has continued to push updates for its Windows 10 preview for the desktop, but it’s clear that there are other versions up the company’s sleeve in the works. Just as we saw leaks of a Windows 10 for phones that hasn’t gone public yet, it seems that Microsoft has very advanced builds with major changes to come as well.
New leaks show us a new Windows 10 in the works that marks the return of the Windows Aero effect that we saw with Windows Vista and Windows 7. This is basically the window transparency effect that Windows 8 killed, even though this time it seems that the effect will only be part of the Start Menu. Other changes show us a new 3D Live Tile effect, which does a better job in mimicking the Start Menu animation, instead of the existing card-flicking UI. Cortana also sees some updates, as it’s now closer to the Start Menu, and also offers a quick access for settings and other options as well.
Windows 10 isn’t expected for a launch until the summer, and Microsoft partners even claim a late July launch as well. What we do see is that there is a lot more to go in this process, and the changes are good.
