If you’re currently testing Windows 10 in the Insider program and thought you were rocking the latest build, fact of the matter is you’re not. The Insider program is currently testing version 10052, and today we land a leaked video from a trusted source on version 12544, which is definitely a significant jump in version number. The changes are significant, and the video is quite technical, so here’s what changes:
Background transparency: Microsoft will be providing users with a slider to control for the background image transparency, something that’s definitely handy for images that are either too stale or too saturated. The amount of accent colors also grew significantly, from 20 to 48 in this build as well.
Lumia Camera 5.5: Yes, one of our favorite features from the Lumia 930 goes from version 5.0 to 5.5. We notice that devices like the Lumia 1020 will be supported by this update, but like in the current case of the Lumia 830, not all features will be supported. Rich Capture doesn’t seem to be active, and it makes sense since Microsoft warned that the feature requires a quad core processor to work, and the Lumia 1020 doesn’t have one.
App updates: We also see a new Word app, in addition to a OneNote update as well. The Microsoft Store enters beta for reasons we can’t yet confirm, but a major change is that the new build of the Spartan browser is now on par with the desktop browser.
Feel free to watch the video, and we’ll keep you posted as we learn more about this update.
