If you are waiting for that exciting update from Verizon to unlock your Galaxy S III‘s bootloader you are probably wasting your time. The carrier is trying to push the Developer Edition of the phone, coming soon, for all those who need an unlocked bootloader for their flashing and customization needs.

However, the community is never going to let you down. Thanks to an unsecure bootloader that was leaked, the Verizon Galaxy S III now has an unlockable bootloader. The catch is that, according to the developer, you will have to reject future official updates as this tool will probably brick your device.

Now that we got that one out of the way, those brave enough to try it out should head over to the source link and check for instructions, downloads and feedback. Linux, Mac and even Windows (with a twist) solutions are available.
