Verizon details its free Fios internet offer and who qualifies

Verizon has announced that it's participating in the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) via the Fios Forward program which allows eligible customers to get fiber internet for free. Verizon says that customers who are eligible for the program will get access to premium high-speed Internet, data caps, extra fees or equipment costs, and more for free.
Verizon is offering the starting Fios internet plan, which generally costs $40 per month and gives access to 300 Mbps speed, for free. The company says that it is removing hidden cost barriers, with no extra fees, no contracts, and no router costs. Under the Fios Forward program, Vierzon is also offering other plans at a discount. The 500 Mbps plan which costs $65 per month is discounted to $25 whereas the 1Gbps plan is available at only $50 per month for the eligible ACP customers.

To opt for the plan, Verizon says:
To qualify, a customer must first be approved for ACP and have a Fios Mix & Match plan. Once their service is active and they are approved for ACP, customers must call 1-800-VERIZON to have the Fios Forward discount applied. For additional information visit: www.verizon.com/fiosforward.
If Fios is not available in your area, don't worry. The company says that ACP benefits can be applied to Verizon data plans including 5G Home, LTE Home, HSI/DSL, mobile prepaid, postpaid unlimited, and metered plans. Those who want to use ACP benefits and are outside the Fios footprint will have to use this link.
