Unlimited Sprint Data Not Going Anywhere Once LTE Arrives

You may be close to reaching saturation when it comes to news about Sprint’s LTE network and the first phones that will operate on it; at least, it’s certainly seemed like a good portion of the news and rumors we’ve been looking into lately have dealt with either the Galaxy Nexus, LG Viper, or the Sprint LTE network in general. Soon enough, we’ll be back to business as usual, but for the time being we’ve still got plenty of questions left about these launches. One very relevant question is what the deployment of LTE will mean for Sprint’s unlimited data. The carrier has now been confirming that unlimited data will not be affected by the start of LTE service.

This is fantastic news, at least if you happen to live in one of the markets where Sprint will first have LTE coverage. Every time we hear about a big change coming for Sprint, we end up worrying about what effect it would have on unlimited data; the same concern arose when the carrier first got its hands on the iPhone. So far, unlimited data has proved resilient to these bumps, and Sprint looks like it will be remaining the last major carrier continuing to offer such service. Granted, we could see this policy change if the carrier underestimates LTE data consumption, but it sounds like things will at least be off to a good start.
