Windows Phone Twitter app adds photo filters, Vine playback

Feature-for-feature, the official Twitter app for Windows Phone may lag behind the software available on platforms like iOS or Android, but it still endeavors to do improve, and today we see the arrival of an update that manages to pack in a whole bunch of new features.

More than one of these improvements are photo-based, like the app now supporting external lens apps in Windows Phone 8. The app itself gets eight new built-in effects filters. It’s also now more convenient to embed a pic in a tweet your composing, and the app supports saving tweeted photos.

Windows Phone may not have a full-on Vine app like Android just got, but this update at least lets you view Vine clips which have been embedded in tweets. Beyond that, there are some general bugfixes, as well as new refresh controls. Head over to the Windows Phone store to check it out.
