BlackBerry users have one new tool for helping to keep in touch in real-time, and one to look forward to, as today the official Twitter client for BlackBerry reaches version 1.1, and a few images of the upcoming BlackBerry Messenger 6.0 have leaked, showing off a new look for the app.

Like the recent BlackBerry Traffic release, Twitter has been stewing in the BlackBerry Beta Zone and is now ready for a push to the App World. The biggest addition in version 1.1 is arguably the geotagging support, letting you add your location to tweets with the touch of a button, and pull up a map to see where users you follow are posting from. The UI has been given a minor update to match the Twitter site redesign, and there’s now language support for Chinese, Polish, Czech, and Thai.

BlackBerry Messenger 6.0 features stylings inspired by BlackBerry OS 6.1, and will presumably come out alongside the operating system update. The changes that are apparent so far are largely cosmetic, featuring new, colorful icons, but there’s some added organizational functionality, as well, letting you associated colors with particular users.

While BBM 6.0 is still in the wings, the BlackBerry Twitter client should be showing up in the App Store sometime today.
