The resolution bump for xCloud streaming comes as Microsoft switches to more powerful server blades based on Xbox Series X hardware.
The web-based client of xCloud game streaming service is slated to arrive for iOS and Windows 10 in the Spring season this year.
xCloud will arrive on iOS as a web-based solution, while Windows 10 will support it via the Xbox app as well as a browser.
Xbox chief Phil Spencer reportedly told employees that Microsoft will bring xCloud to iPhones and iPads via a “direct browser-based solution."
Xbox One owners can now play games downloaded on their consoles straight to their Android phones or tablets.
