Before HTC can expand the Vive Focus from China, Facebook has officially released the Oculus Go VR device in the US, Canada and many European countries.
The self-contained Oculus Go headset is actually manufactured by Xiaomi, as announced at CES 2018, and a China-exclusive equivalent called Mi VR Standalone is also in the pipeline.
That highly anticipated all-in-one HTC Vive Focus VR headset is still slated to launch exclusively in China before long, at a starting price of $605 or so.
After heavily discounting its PC-tethered Rift VR headset, Oculus is reportedly extremely close to launching a low-cost independent product.
