The Huawei Mate 8, P9, P9 Plus, Honor 8, V8, Note 8 and 6X are all set to receive stable Android Oreo updates in China soon after a few rounds of public beta tests.
The ancient Mate 8 is one of several Huawei-branded smartphones being promised Android Oreo delivery... someday, alongside the P9, P9 Plus, Nova Youth Edition, Nova 2 and 2 Plus.
It sounds like the P10 and P10 Plus have some big shoes to fill, as the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus have already sold 12 million units worldwide.
While Huawei is expected to unveil the P10 at next month's MWC, two other phones, including an Honor 9 suspect, probably paid Tenaa recent visits.
Huawei continues to crush its own smartphone sales records, shipping 140 million units this year so far, including 10M P9-series devices.
The Mate 8 also gets Android 7.0 with EMUI 5.0 as well. Some more Huawei phones from the Nova to the Honor 8 are going down the beta pipeline.

If you thought the P9 and P9 Plus were impressive slabs of silicon, wait until you see the super-high-end Huawei Mate 9 unveiled in the fall.
There are two remarkably high-end Huawei Honor V8 variants in the pipeline, both with dual rear cams in tow, one with a 1080p screen, the other Quad HD.
The Huawei P9 and P9 Plus are just the start of a dual rear camera flagship onslaught from the OEM, with a similar Honor V8 also around the corner.
Leica makes some good lenses and Huawei has some good phones. The two have teamed up to "reinvent" the smartphone camera experience, but...
In addition to the OEM's various low-cost, low to mid-end smartphones, the premium Huawei P9 and P9 Plus are projected to sell like hotcakes in 2016.
The Huawei P9 Lite is still coming, apparently, at some point, with just the one 13 megapixel rear camera, a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, and Kirin 650 SoC.
They may both have dual cameras but how to Huawei's latest flagships really measure up? We compare Huawei P9 specs with those of the P9 Plus.
