While there has been nothing specific pointed out except for the renders for this device, we do have a spiritual successor to the Mate S.
Unfortunately, it looks like we're still a couple of months away from the Mate S2 or Mate 9 launches, with Huawei planning something else for IFA.
Huawei SuperCharge is the nearly guaranteed market name of the company's looming fast charging technology, previewed last year.
IFA begins on September 2, but Huawei wants to kick-off the party the day before with a few smartphone releases of its own in Berlin.
We're talking about a curved screen. And no, it's not going to be like Samsung's. That's what a Chinese mobile phone analyst is looking into.
It's been less than a couple of weeks since the Huawei Mate 8 broke cover, and already, the 6-incher is groomed for its domestic commercial debut.

As one of the emerging OEMs in the global smartphone market, Huawei has been making friends and Ascend-ing in market share. But as much as we appreciate the company’s hardware prowess, we have to say that the EMUI software can get kinda dodgy for us sometimes. Maybe a software update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow might be able to change our opinion on that.
If you’re looking forward to Marshmallow on your Huawei device, good (or bad) news! Huawei’s got a list of models getting the update. The list includes not only the phone series, but each individual model, [...]

They’re poised to make one of the next Nexus phones later this month, and if there’s anything Huawei has proven it’s good at, it’s hardware. We briefly touched on the phone’s design at IFA 2015, and it’s still gorgeous and terrifically well-made. The chamfered edges lining the aluminum chassis convey a premium look and feel, and round out the sides to make it feel super comfortable to hold. The 5.5” AMOLED display isn’t the sharpest thing we saw at IFA, but at 1080p it’s still more than good enough for most people. There’s a 13 MP camera and LED flash around back, and sitting [...]
It might as well have been a bar. Or a dance club. Full of EDM, feathers and psychotic playhouses. Really, when you walk into the Messe Berlin around this time of year, you should expect and receive everything. Buzzed-about wearables from Huawei and Samsung made their ways to the fray. Sony wore its Xperia lineage with its sixth coat of paint. ZTE splashed more of its truer colors onto the newest Axon smartphone. And then the trunk of the show irreparably branches into something else.
We’ll enjoy the climb as we head inside Mobilegeeks.de’s tech.lounge at IFA 2015 [...]

The unexpectedly and mercilessly prolonged summer flagship season is already giving way to the fall flagship season and to many bits and pieces on what we’re expecting. Historically, we’ve seen Sony lead the charge for a semiannual product cycle. Chinese OEM Huawei took that pace and sped it up. There’s always a “P” phone, an “Honor” phone and a “Mate” phone to be had in a Huawei year. We may be getting some specs from the latter in an AnTuTu benchmark.
As always, you should take leaks like these with a grain of salt, [...]
