Codenamed "Valley" for many years, Samsung's foldable smartphone project now carries a pompous "Winner" alias, reportedly eyeing a February 2019 public announcement. The more conventional Galaxy S10 could see daylight in January.
Samsung's first foldable smartphone may launch in limited numbers sometime next year, even though no decision has been made regarding the type of foldable design to be employed.
If supply chain sources are correct, Samsung is aiming for a 5.8-inch "Infinity Display" Galaxy S10, as well as a 6.3-inch S10 Plus, looking fairly similar to the S9 and S9+ on the outside.
A highly advanced 3D sensing solution is reportedly in the works for Samsung's Galaxy S10 (or Galaxy X) next year to go after Face ID speed, security and reliability on the iPhone X.
Keep in mind that as Samsung approaches the tenth iteration of its flagship smartphone series next year that there's the potential of the foldable phone concept materializing that same year. Coincidence?
