Whenever John Legere is not calling out his competitors on Twitter, he’s doing so in video or in a keynote, as he continues to defy the US mobile paradigm with new services. We’ve already tested T-Mobile’s unlimited roaming services extensively during our business trips, but it seems that the company understood that data roaming in EDGE is just terrible. After a recent teaser of a new Uncarrier promotion announcement happening today, we finally get details.

T-Mobile has just annouced its new Uncarrier deal, “Mobile Without Borders.” The name on its own is selfe explanatory, as the company intends to remove roaming limits whenever you cross the US border. The service is going live in Canada and Mexico, and instead of giving allowing you to roam for free at EDGE data speeds, your phone should roam without limitations, with full LTE connectivity where available, in addition to unlimited calls and text depending on whichever plan you currently have.

The service should go live on July 15, so it’s a little early to test it and confirm that it’s as good as it sounds. If T-Mobile pulls this off as announced, the carrier would have a significant benefit over traditional US carriers for frequent travelers. If you’ve never seen what it’s like to pay a roaming bill on other carriers, trust me, you don’t want to know.
