Last year, we saw T-Mobile release HTC’s Doubleshot as the myTouch 4G Slide, which followed 2010’s release of the QWERTY-less original myTouch 4G. Since they arrived, we’ve seen both models get their fair share of software updates, and most recently HTC has been adding them to its bootloader unlock program. Now T-Mobile has revealed that another maintenance update is on its way, and should be coming to both phones shortly.

Starting today, the new myTouch 4G software starts going out, bringing the phone up to system software 2.32.531.1. As is common for relatively minor updates, the release notes are pretty vague. There are some unspecified “software improvements”, a security update from Google, and a new version of the pre-installed Swype. All myTouch 4G owners should see their phones get the update sometime between now and this time next month.

The myTouch 4G Slide’s update isn’t quite here yet, but will begin distribution next week, on March 19. There’s that same Google update here, as well as few device-specific tweaks. It’s not clear just what’s changing, but T-Mobile is adjusting the implementation of the phone’s Genius Button. You’ll also see improved Netflix performance, and making calls over WiFi should now work a little better. Like the myTouch 4G’s update, this one will be going out over the course of a month.
