T-Mobile Catching Up With Global HTC 8X, Delivers WP8 Update Tomorrow

Well, the Nokia Lumia 920’s new Windows Phone 8 update seems practically ready for distribution, but for the moment at least, we don’t have any hard word on exactly when it will start going out besides “before the end of the month”. Luckily for HTC Windows Phone 8X owners on T-Mobile in the US, the situation is a lot less ambiguous, and the carrier has confirmed plans to begin distribution of WP8 build 10211 tomorrow.

It’s been about a week since we saw that same update arrive for the international HTC 8X, delivering the so-called “Portico” build. As you may already know from that coverage, or our video overview of the changes, this update delivers a fix to resolve issues with unintended device reboots, lets WiFi connections stay active even when your phone is asleep, and contains a couple new tweaks to SMS functionality, like letting you save draft versions of messages before sending them.

Beyond those, T-Mobile also mentions fixes to correct issues with Bluetooth functionality, and one that prevents problems with false detection of tethered devices.

If you don’t see that OTA notification show up tomorrow, go ahead and manually check for the update through the 8X’s settings menu.
