Yesterday we got word that users of the HTC Windows Phone 8X on T-Mobile would soon be joining their fellow users abroad with the release of the platform’s build 10211 Portico update. This wasn’t just some rumor, either, and the carrier itself posted news of the forthcoming update to its site. The plan was for the update to start heading out OTA today, so you may be wondering why you haven’t seen anything yet. It turns out that things have hit a little hitch, and the T-Mobile now says that the 8X’s update has been “temporarily delayed”.

As for just why you won’t see Portico today, T-Mobile is a little vague. Usually, when we hear about a last-minute delay like this, it’s because testing uncovered something problematic. The carrier doesn’t exactly say that it needs to fix anything in specific, and instead talks about its desire to “perform a few tweaks”.

According to T-Mobile, the update will still be arriving ASAP, though it’s not willing to provide a new date just yet; perhaps it’s learned its lesson there.
