Both T-Mobile and MetroPCS getting Galaxy On5

There’s never a shortage of budget options for those on prepaid carriers, but they’re always rebadged with some funky name like “Avant” or “Admire” or “Your Face“. What, too cynical?

Anyways, T-Mobile and MetroPCS are bucking the trend for once as both are officially taking in the Samsung Galaxy On5 late this month.

It’s a simple phone, really. An mid-range quad-core Exynos processor powering the typical five-inch HD display, a five-megapixel camera on back and a two-megapixel unit on the front. 1.5GB of RAM and a 2,600mAh battery keep it chugging while 8GB of storage keeps things in order. Hey, at least it’s running Android Marshmallow.

MetroPCS will offer the phone starting June 27 for $59 with rebate while T-Mobile kicks off sales June 29 for $140 or $5.83 monthly for two years.
