Although Lumia 950’s AT&T exclusivity stateside was initially supposed to be limited and expire within three months of the flagship phone’s debut, it’s possible Microsoft’s new software update policy permanently drove away other carriers.

There’s no word of an approaching T-Mobile expansion, let alone Sprint or Verizon launches, and instead Magenta is reportedly looking to sell an entry-level, low-cost Windows 10 Mobile device starting next month.

The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL was rendered in both Android and Windows flavors back in October, subsequently seeing daylight on MetroPCS only with Google’s uber-successful OS pre-installed. Priced at $139, it quickly dropped to $69, and according to Windows Central, it will also cost no more than $100 through T-Mo when running Redmond’s fresh, still somewhat unstable platform.

From a hardware standpoint, the Fierce XL is definitely no powerhouse, with Snapdragon 210 inside, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, and a non-removable 2,500 mAh battery. As the name suggests however, the handheld is quite big, at 5.5 inches, with 720p screen resolution in tow, and the 8 and 2MP cameras aren’t half bad… for under a Benjamin.

Aesthetically, the Windows-based Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL aims to stand out with relatively slim bezels, rounded corners, and above all, a sleek chromatic combination of a black frame and cyan rear cover.
