Rumors of an upcoming Surface Mini tablet from Microsoft have been swirling for months now, but so far confirmation hasn’t been easy to come by. Is that finally about to change? Invitations have begun making their way out of Microsoft for a “small gathering” (emphasis added), which immediately makes us think we’ll be seeing the elusive Surface Mini.

This event lines up pretty well with an earlier report stating a release timeframe and also the possibility of stylus support on the device.

As a quick refresher, we’re expecting a 7.5 inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, making the device’s screen shockingly similar to the one that can be found on Apple’s iPad Mini line.

Microsoft’s event will be going down on May 20, and we will be sure to bring you the news from the event as it unfolds.
