We’ve got good news for you, users of the HTC One M9 on Sprint. The Sprint HTC One M9 Android 5.1 Lollipop update will be rolling out later this week, on July 1, according to a company product manager.

The update is the latest in a line-up of HTC updates – just today, we reported on the Desire EYE on AT&T getting the update to Android 5.0. And this additionally comes soon after the Sprint One M9 saw a discount to just $99 on-contract at the carrier.

Versi notes that the 5.1 update does indeed bring camera improvements to the smartphone – improvements some may categorize as “most definitely necessary” for the smartphone. Given that the camera was one of the few faults we found in the phone when we gave it the full review treatment, we hope this update does indeed help move the phone closer to the perfection it strives to be.

The over-the-air update will be rolling out starting on July 1, though technical approval has already been granted. Stay tuned for the update!
