HTC One E8 users on Sprint, you have a long-awaited treat headed your way! Mo Versi, a project manager for HTC, has confirmed that the Sprint HTC One E8 Lollipop update has been granted technical approval by the carrier – which means the rollout is just about to begin.

According to Versi, the OTA will begin tomorrow (May 21), though it may be a while before your device is able to see the update. HTC has gone ahead and posted a changelog (linked in the source below) of what the update will bring; the four items you see below should be what to expect after the update:

Android 5.0 Lollipop

Updated Lock screen and Notification UI with enhanced privacy features

Recent apps supports multiple pages

Added search function in Settings

One final note: the update you’ll receive will not bring you to Android 5.1, Lollipop. This means that you’ll be on an earlier version of the software; you’ll still have all the fancy features such as Material Design, but the resulting software may be slightly buggier than what you’d expect with 5.1. It’s unclear whether Android 5.1 will arrive in an update at some point in the future, but don’t get your hopes up for that to land anytime soon.
