Speed Test: iPhone 4S vs. iPhone 4 (Video)

The iPhone 4S is obviously faster than the iPhone 4, but by how much? In this video, we compare the iPhone 4S with the iPhone 4 in four areas: boot-up time, app launching speed, web browsing performance, and gaming performance. The 4S is the clear winner when it comes to boot-up time and app launching speed, and it most definitely provides smoother gaming performance with visibly higher frame rates in our test game, Asphalt 6. But for web browsing, there wasn’t a clear winner in our test. Further, our 3G data speed showed faster data speeds on the iPhone 4, but this is likely an anomaly, since the iPhone 4S can access AT&T’s faster HSPA+ speeds. Overall, the 4S is a significant bump in speed over the 4, but it’s not huge.
