Specs rumored for Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro? Or just the Mi Note 2?

Xiaomi is saying that two is greater than five. Product allegory would say that the Chinese manufacturer’s upcoming Mi Note 2 will outperform Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5. With such a time gap and better components available at lower prices, there’s one big “duh” right there. Perhaps according to these rumors, it could even beat the Note 7.

But hold the phone, if you will.

From the point of view of Chinese rumor mongers, a so-called “Xiaomi Phone Pro” will be a smaller, less capable package than the regular Mi Note 2 — not like it was for an analgous Mi Note Pro last time around.

This “Xiaomi Phone Pro” will get a 5.5-inch full HD display with maximum brightness of 500 nits from AUO — not from Samsung this time around. The main camera features 12-megapixel Sony IMX260 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and four-axis OIS. A Snapdragon 821 runs the main show with options for 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM tied to 64GB or 128GB of storage. Topping it off, we’ve got a 3,700mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor on the front.

With rumors being rumors, — trusty and specific as they aren’t — we can’t tell if we’re getting the real Mi Note 2 in these specs or if we’re dealing with an entirely different beast. Guess we’ll have to figure this one out in time.
