It shouldn’t be that hard to form a mental image of a new iPhone said to closely resemble the old one, only coated in a darker shade of gray, going lighter on the antenna lines, discarding the traditional headphone jack, and adopting both a Smart Connector and dual rear-facing camera as far as the 5.5-inch model is concerned.

But just as we saw the rumored “deep blue” iPhone 7 flavor depicted in a number of very different ways, the “space black” version making the rounds now could end up looking more or less classically ebony.

Keep in mind the last dark-skinned Apple handheld, the iPhone 5, combined black and slate for an elegant two-tone appearance, although there’s no indication Cupertino is planning something similar this time around.

Instead, a few iFans skilled in the art of Photoshop and purportedly connected to inside sources envision a straightforward all-black rear cover for the iPhone 7, with lighter accents on the revised antenna bands. One of the designers/tipsters even goes a step forward in trying to predict how an all-glass iPhone 2017 edition in black might look (spoiler: very provocative), albeit there’s obviously a long way to go to corroborate that particular concept render.
