Sony paperwork hints to an Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact in the works

Sony has done an amazing job at regaining its popularity for cutting-edge smartphones, though we wish we could say the same about its tablets. We can’t deny that we loved the Xperia Tablet Z at the time of our review, but neither this tablet, nor its successor gained a decent level of popularity. We do know that Sony is working on an Xperia Tablet Z3 for a possible launch at IFA, but it seems there’s probably more to look forward to, or less if you look deeper.

Some documentation of the Sony BSC10 Bluetooth speaker has emerged, and within the listing of compatible products, we see that there is a Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Yes, we know the usual name is Xperia Tablet Z3 Compact, but we’re following the Sony listing. Another interesting thing is that there is no Xperia Z3 Tablet mentioned in the list, making all the speculation ever more interesting.

Sony just barely unveiled its Xperia Tablet Z2 at MWC 2014, so it’s not hard to assume that the company might want to leave its bigger tablet for a yearly cycle, and add a smaller tablet for a fall launch going forward. We wish we could give you some specifications as well, but at the moment, this leak is based on a listing, which could be a typo as well.
