Sony pushing major UI improvements to its camera app

Sony is definitely the king when it comes to smartphone cameras. The company doesn’t only manage to gain a ton of praise for its camera performance on its high-end Xperia smartphones, but every competing device that is praised for this is most likely using a Sony camera sensor. That said, the user interface is also important in helping the user enjoy the experience of taking a quick photo on the go, and Sony has just decided to do something about it.

Sony has just pushed a major update to its camera application when it comes to the user experience. You’ll no longer have to dig within settings for features like Superior Auto, Manual, Video, and Xperia Camera apps, as these are just a simple swipe away. All you have to do is launch the camera app and then swipe to the mode that is most convenient to the shot you’re trying to get. We actually got a small glimpse of this feature back at IFA 2015, but it’s not until now that we get to see it reaching users.

If you’re currently rocking an Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and obviously the Xperia Z5 Premium, you’re already eligible for the update.
