Some smartphones are able to make their way to market in the shadows, with little information about them going public before they see their formal launches. Others pop up in a rumor or two, maybe even starring in a super-blurry pic that gets leaked on social media. And then there are phones like the Sony Xperia Z4, where we spend more time looking at its dozens of pre-launch leaks than we spend with some phones over their entire lifespans. This week has already brought us a bunch of new shots of the Z4’s hardware, and today we add a couple new entries to the ever-growing list, with the publication of a new render and some pics of a possible case.

As shouldn’t be much of a surprise, we really aren’t seeing anything new here, and while that doesn’t make these new images super-exciting, their presence does help to further build assurances that the overall direction of all these Z4 leaks is on the right track. The render is consistent with previous depictions of the phone, and the cut-outs in the side of the case shown here match what we’ve seen in terms of physical button placement. We even get a brief look at the case’s retail packaging, appearing to confirm that it’s a Z4 accessory.

But for all these developments, we still aren’t a lot closer to nailing-down a launch timetable. At the pace all these leaks are arriving, we’d love to believe it has to be soon, but specific dates continue to be hard to come by.
