And unlocked GSM units finally on pre-sale at Amazon in the US in black, white and blue for $499.99. Yep, $500. Amazon is softening the blow with a $50 checkout credit and shipping trucks are scheduled to set out next week on the 25th.

Given, though, how many times we’ve been praising manufacturers on their $400 phones this year, we’re skeptical at how this combination of hard specs, killer features(?) and the one unique shrinking-uh, we mean selling point will fare.
