October got started with AT&T announcing that it would carry the new Sony Xperia TL, the smartphone Daniel Craig will be using in the new James Bond film, Skyfall. Even if the movie tie-in fails to get your attention, the TL is still a solid Android, with a 4.6-inch 720p display, dual-core 1.5GHz SoC, and a quick-responding 13-megapixel camera. Back then, AT&T wasn’t ready to reveal the phone’s precise release date, nor what it intended to charge for the handset. Today, the carrier comes through with just that info.

The Xperia TL will launch with the refreshingly affordable price of just about $100 on-contract. Based on the movie connection, we had assumed that the phone would arrive before the film’s November 9 release date, and sure enough, AT&T will be selling the TL beginning November 2.

If you are interested in the Bond angle to this, the TL will come pre-loaded with video clips, behind the scenes footage, wallpapers, and more. If you’re more concerned with the phone’s hardware, you can look forward to NFC capabilities, HDMI support with MHL and DLNA streaming, and Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine to really make the display pop.
