Sony Xperia Tablet Z Sees Short Delays

Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z was one of the hottest tablets at the Mobile World Congress, seriously impressing us with its sleek, slim, refined design. At the time, we heard that the tablet would go up for sale during the second quarter of the year. Since then, Sony placed the model up for pre-order on its website, and in the UK at least, was forecasting availability in mid-April. All of a sudden, it looks like that’s changed, and the tablet won’t be available until May.

UK availability is currently listed as the “middle of May,” but trying to actually order one gives you an estimated delivery date of the tail end of the Month. Other retailers are parroting a similar story, talking about getting the tablet during the fourth week of the month.

We know, it’s just a short setback, and other markets might see the Tablet Z arrive on different schedules, but it’s still a small bummer, all the same. Have any of you got eyes on this baby, or are you waiting to make your tablet decisions until closer to summer, when we might have a new Nexus 7 to look at?
