Sony confirms end of Android updates for certain Xperia phones

Even though Sony has done an amazing job at bringing software updates to its Xperia lineup ever since the launch of the Xperia Z, not everything can be perfect. Up to this point, those Xperia Z flagships that were launched two years ago are still eligible for software updates to Android 4.4 KitKat, but if you think the mid-tier models are going to have the same luck, think again. Sony has just unveiled its software update plans for some of these phones, and the picture isn’t pretty.

If you’re rocking a Sony Xperia L, M, C or SP, we’re sad to inform that the farthest your device is going to go is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Sony hasn’t confirmed the reason for ending support for these devices, but it’s definitely disappointing considering that Android 4.4 KitKat is made to demand less from the hardware. It should be that all these phones get the update because of this major benefit of KitKat, but sadly the story is different.

Are you currently using any of these devices affected? Make sure you leave us a comment down bellow if you do with your thoughts.
