Sony looks to be preparing for a blockbuster IFA event this year, with reported plans for the Xperia Z3, the Xperia Z3 Compact, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, and a new smartwatch – and that’s just on the mobile side of things. Now we’re hearing more confirmation of the latter two, as both the Sony tablet and smartwatch have allegedly been caught in a leaked promo pic.

The picture shows off the tablet, which is expected to have an 8-inch size (a first for this Sony line of tablets), along with a new smartwatch. They are both shown near what appears to be a pool, so it’s quite possible that this suggests water resistance will be a key feature of both products.

We see more about the tablet than the smartwatch through this pic, with the former booted up and watching a movie. All we can say is that this looks thin and light, and it’s running what looks to be Sony’s proprietary Android skin.

The smartwatch looks like it has an always-on display, as the screen is visible in this pic, but we can’t see much more other than the time here. It’s possible that this is an Android Wear product, though it’s pretty likely Sony is sticking with the custom software used on previous smartwatch iterations.
