A couple days back, Sony couldn’t contain its excitement about its upcoming products, and an as-of-now-still-unannounced Xperia Z4 Tablet popped up on the company’s Xperia Lounge app. The presence of a date from next week sure seemed to imply that Sony could be readying to introduce the tablet at MWC, meaning that even in the absence of an Xperia Z4, we’d still have some new high-end hardware to look forward to. Now the company’s got a new MWC teaser out, and it sure does look like it supports the idea of a tablet launch.

While we don’t see much of the hardware thanks to the angle and tight cropping, that device featured above feels a lot more like a tablet than anything phone-sized.

Sony’s gaffe already mentioned a 2K display for the Xperia Z4 Tablet, and this new teaser describes the hardware as slimmer, lighter, and brighter than previous efforts. The idea of it being exceptionally lightweight also showed up in that earlier copy, and the hardware here certainly appears very thin.

While the big news from companies like Samsung and HTC will arrive this Sunday, Sony’s holding back on its MWC launch news until Monday, March 2. Check back with us then for full details on the company’s new hardware.
