Sony Honami pics: new official teaser, plus leaked multi-colored render

Yesterday, we saw Sony post a little teaser to Twitter. Between its talk about an upcoming launch and what we could make out from the image, it seemed pretty darn clear we were talking about Honami, rumored to go official at the company’s September 4 event. Today, Sony continues with more of the same, and we also get a chance to look at a new leaked image of the phone, showing off its color options.

We all know how Sony loves waterproofing its smartphones, and if today’s pic is any indication, Honami will be continuing with that tradition. The company is once again using language that refers to an imminent launch, here with “making a splash” doing double-duty, both highlighting the model’s waterproofing and pointing towards the phone’s debut.

Though coming from less official sources, our next pic appears nonetheless legitimate, and shows off the three color options expected for Honami’s launch. We saw all three in another leak not too long ago, but this image is in an appreciably higher resolution and much clearer. Reading a little into that September 5 date, we wonder if Sony doesn’t intend to make Honami immediately available for sale (at least in some markets) following that September 4 press event.
