Sony Ericsson Continues Dropping Clues for Upcoming Smartphone

Yesterday, we looked an image Sony Ericsson just released to drum-up interest in the company’s CES offerings next week. We’re still not sure exactly what product the pic was supposed to promote, but some clever readers pointed out some hints that could be seen as referring to a Windows Phone device. Today, Sony Ericsson continues with the games, and has another teaser for us.

This time, we go from barely seeing the phone at all to some extreme close-ups. We’re not exactly sure what the port is, featured in the upper-right, but other than that, we’re clearly in camera territory here. That fits, because we’ve been hearing about some high-end image sensors in the Sony Ericsson smartphone hardware that’s been under development.

So, just what model might we be looking at here? There’s a lot of speculation going around that this is the Xperia Arc HD, aka the Nozomi. The one big problem with that, is if the images we’ve seen so far that are supposed to be the Nozomi are accurate, there should be an LED flash directly under the lens. That is, anyway, unless the “HD” here was meant to be printed on its side. Without the flash visible in this shot, chances are we’re dealing with different hardware. Any guesses? LT82at? Ion?
