Samsung seems to know its way around smartwatches. Even as a distant second to the Apple Watch, the company’s Tizen-based offerings have proven popular in their own right — especially considering the forethought put into the Gear S2.

Well, it’s another year and already we’re hearing word from SamMobile that there’s another Tizen-powered Gear wearable coming our way beyond the Gear Fit 2. The codename for this one is “Solis” — Spanish for “sun”. The outlet takes it to mean that the watchface will be circular once again as was hinted with the Gear S2’s codename, “Orbis”.

The model numbers to watch out for are SM-R760, SM-R765, SM-R770, SM-R765V and SM-R765S. The last two sound like they will be going to Verizon and Sprint, though don’t quote us on that. The model names may mark the return of cellular connectivity and different configurations of the device.

Alas, that’s all we think we know so far. But are you looking forward to a Gear S3 in the next few months? Or is it just too early? Too late, even?
