Processing efficiency gets more efficient all the time, thanks to research, development and plenty of both. Samsung’s big into the chipsets — sometimes to the deficiency of its own social and corporate welfare policies — and its 14nm FinFET fabrication is currently in use for its own major Exynos 8 Octa SoC and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820.
We’ve reported back in October that Qualcomm was looking into a 10nm fabrication from Samsung for use on its Snapdragon 830 chipset. Another tipster, this one to SamMobile, goes along with that train of thought and says that the fab will be implemented into Qualcomm’s Kryo architecture.
We’ll wait to see if this holds at all.
