Palm has seen more than its fair share of metamorphoses throughout the years: from a subsidiary of 3Com, it spun off into its own company, rebranded to PalmOne after selling its operating system to Access, subsequently bought the Palm brand back from Access, and was finally snatched up by financial savior Hewlett Packard. And during this illustrious existence, the company has produced quite a few innovative products as well, such as the “it” PDA of the late 20th century, the Palm V (and later, the beefed-up Vx).
