LG and HTC promote their flagships with new freebies

Buying a new smartphone can be its own reward: you get to start fresh with a new, unmarred handset, still months away from seeing its storage bogged down with dozens of apps you ran once and never touched again, or those hours of video footage you accidentally recorded while sleeping (and later forgot about). But if you can score not just a new phone, but also some free extras along with it, so much the better. A few Android manufacturers are offering such perks this week, as we learn about special promo deals for the LG G4 and HTC One M9.

LG already had a free extra battery and microSD offer for the G4, but this new deal mixes things up. The extra battery and cradle charger are still in play, but instead of the microSD card you can now get a free leather back. The offer’s good for phones bought from participating carriers and retailers in the US and runs through the end of the month.

For HTC and the One M9, the deal’s a little more restrictive. We’re only looking at Verizon sales here, but if you pick up the One M9 on the carrier, you’ll also get a $100 Google Play credit, ready to be spent on the apps, movies, and music of your choice. This one’s good through the end of August.
