Samsung Publishes Galaxy S II Jelly Bean Update Features

The Samsung Galaxy S II continues to be a neat little phone and while at it the Jelly Bean update will give it a fresh look and feel (not that you couldn’t work some custom ROM magic on it for your needs). However, the official Jelly Bean update is on its way, as promised by the manufacturer itself, and we’ve got some details straight from the horse’s mouth.

According to Samsung Korea, the refresh will only be available via the KIES software suite and it will take about an hour to install, mainly because it will repartition the entire memory system (while reducing the internal storage by 1GB which will be used for partitioning).

The changes will include improved Home screens, better scrolling performance due mainly to Project Butter, improved usability for some applications, the addition of Easy mode, Block mode, improved Camera functions, Smart Stay, Pop-up play, and more.

While there is no information on a specific roll-out date, with the above details now published, it shouldn’t be far out.
