A familiar-looking pair of “new” iPhones, mysterious second-gen Apple Watch with built-in GPS but likely no cellular connectivity, and… iPads? MacBook Pros? Probably not.

Instead, Cupertino may plan to keep things mobile all the way at its highly anticipated September 7 press event, matching the otherwise underwhelming iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with an exciting slew of life-easing accessories.

As the two escape the traditional shackles of the 3.5mm audio jack and ensuing wired headphones, they’re now expected to ship with adapters, Lightning-connecting or even truly wireless “AirPods” in the box.

The latter two options will be available to buy separately anyway, including from Apple’s premium in-house Beats audio brand. We don’t have the full scoop just yet, but Dr. Dre’s company let the cat out of the bag by sending Apple Keynote invitations previewing the announcement of a “selection of new Beats by Dre products” on September 7 as well.

Yes, that’s precisely what official emails read, and while Apple’s subsidiary quickly realized its goof, it was way too late. The internet never forgets, and now we’re left picturing both earbuds and over-ear headphones from Beats capable of plugging directly into the iPhone 7’s Lightning port, as well as completely cord-free new premium accessories. Who knows, perhaps even the out-the-box AirPods are Culver City’s babies.
