Samsung’s Next 4412 Exynos SoC to Be Quad-Core?

We already have details of nVidia’s Tegra 3 SoC which is a quad-core chip (if you don’t count the fifth core that kicks in every now and then) and it looks like Samsung has got their own processor with four cores, reportedly the Exynos 4412.

The Korean manufacturer recently introduced the Exynos 4212, a dual core ARM Cortex-A9 processor clocking at 1.5GHz; code from the Kernel Git page seems to imply the existence of a certain Exynos 4412 SoC which is allegedly quad-core. It’s still ARM Cortex A9 and still 1.5GHz but this time it has four cores.

We’re expecting the Samsung Galaxy S III to be unveiled at MWC in Barcelona next year, where the Galaxy S II was introduced this February, and with quad-core rumors becoming more and more frequent, Samsung doesn’t want to play catch up especially when it has devices like the Galaxy S line to brag about.
